Boyolali APINDO Holds Courtesy Visit and Audience with Regent

Boyolali – The Regional Leadership Council of the Indonesian Employers’ Association (DPK APINDO) Boyolali held an audience and courtesy visit with Boyolali Regent Agus Irawan and Vice Regent Dwi Fajar Nirwana on Wednesday, April 16, 2025.

The meeting took place in the Merbabu Room at the Boyolali Regent’s Office, aiming to strengthen collaboration between the regional government and the local business community.

Head of the Boyolali Office for Cooperatives and Manpower (Diskopnaker), Bambang Sutanto, highlighted the harmonious and synergistic relationship between the Boyolali Regency Government (Pemkab), business owners, and labor unions.

“This ongoing collaboration between the government, entrepreneurs, and workers’ associations has been running smoothly, harmoniously, and always in synergy,” said Bambang, noting that this unity has contributed to the region’s capacity to improve its Minimum Wage (UMK).

Meanwhile, Chairman of Boyolali APINDO, Imam Bakrie, emphasized that factories in the "City of Milk" prioritize hiring local residents of Boyolali before seeking workers from outside the region.

He noted that the labor-intensive industries still require approximately one thousand additional workers, and recruitment is being conducted in collaboration with village heads and the Boyolali Vocational Training Center (BLK).

“It's ideal if the applicants have skills from BLK training. But even if they are unskilled, they can still be hired,” he explained, adding that companies remain proactive in sourcing labor and are open to partnerships with BLK.

On the government's side, Regent Agus Irawan reiterated his administration's commitment to easing the licensing process for investors, supporting the growth of businesses, and advancing the local economy.

He also pledged to improve infrastructure, especially road access in northern Boyolali, to better support industry development.

The Regent underscored that ample land and a sizable workforce remain available in Boyolali, making it an attractive area for investment.

“Our main goal is to reduce unemployment and lower the poverty rate. That is one of the core missions that I share with Vice Regent Dwi Fajar,” he affirmed.
