Inauguration and First Provincial Consultation Working Meeting of DPP APINDO South Kalimantan

BANJARMASIN – The Regional Executive Board of the Indonesian Employers’ Association (DPP APINDO) of South Kalimantan officially held the Inauguration of its 2024–2029 Executive Board, in conjunction with its First Provincial Consultation Working Meeting (Rakerkonprov I), on Wednesday (April 16, 2025) in Banjarmasin.

The event took place across two venues: the Mahligai Pancasila Building hosted the inauguration ceremony, while the Swiss-Belhotel Borneo Banjarmasin served as the venue for the Rakerkonprov. The event carried the theme: “Synergy and Collaboration of APINDO South Kalimantan in Strengthening the Regional Economy.”

The event was solemn yet strategic, attended by prominent regional figures and key stakeholders in the business community. Distinguished guests included the Vice Governor of South Kalimantan, Hasnuryadi Sulaiman; the Deputy Mayor of Banjarmasin, Ananda; Chairman of APINDO South Kalimantan's Advisory Council, Supriadi; and Vice Chair for Organizational Affairs, Muliawan Margadana.

In her remarks, APINDO Chairwoman Shinta W. Kamdani emphasized that the inauguration marked more than just an organizational formality—it reflected a moral and strategic commitment to reinforcing APINDO’s role as a unifying home for Indonesian entrepreneurs. She underlined the organization’s capacity to offer solutions to the challenges of the current business climate and complex economic dynamics.

Shinta further stressed the importance of the “Indonesia Incorporated” spirit as a new foundation for fostering synergy among the business sector, government, and all elements of society.

“APINDO is expected not only to act as an economic player but also to contribute actively to policymaking and to become a driver of more inclusive socio-economic transformation. The new leadership of APINDO South Kalimantan is anticipated to lead efforts in expanding organizational outreach, nurturing young entrepreneurs, and unlocking local economic potential,” Shinta stated.

Simultaneously, the Chairman of DPP APINDO South Kalimantan, Winardi Sethiono, expressed that the event marked the beginning of a renewed commitment by APINDO South Kalimantan to support regional economic development. “APINDO South Kalimantan is ready to be a strategic partner of the government in facing investment challenges, driving economic diversification, and strengthening business resilience amid global uncertainties,” he said.

Opening the Rakerkonprov, Vice Governor Hasnuryadi Sulaiman conveyed his highest appreciation for the inauguration of the new board. “In today’s economic landscape, APINDO’s presence can provide viable solutions to regional economic challenges and help build South Kalimantan together,” he affirmed.

The Rakerkonprov I continued with the formulation of a systematic, adaptive, and practical work program for DPP APINDO South Kalimantan. Key issues discussed included identifying on-the-ground business climate challenges, as well as assessing national and regional business conditions based on APINDO’s Economic Roadmap Survey.

Topics included the high cost of doing business, low employment absorption and productivity, middle-class contraction, reliance on raw commodity exports, and the complexity of the OSS-RBA system and other business regulations. The meeting also discussed implementation strategies for APINDO’s four flagship programs: the National Economic Roadmap, APINDO MSME Academy, GAS KIPAS Stunting, and HR & IR Certification.

The event was also attended by the Chairpersons of APINDO’s Regional Boards (DPK) from all regencies and cities in South Kalimantan, association representatives, banking leaders, business organizations, labor union leaders, and executives from APINDO member companies across the province.
