Thomas Nurwanto Appointed Head of the Indonesian Employers’ Association in Banda Aceh: Here’s What He Said

BANDA ACEH – (Ret.) Police Commissioner Thomas Nurwanto, SE, SH, has been entrusted with leading the Indonesian Employers’ Association (Apindo) Banda Aceh Chapter for the 2025–2030 term.
The former Head of Traffic Unit at Banda Aceh City Police and former Head of Vehicle Registration and Sub-Directorate of Law Enforcement at the Aceh Police Traffic Directorate was elected unanimously during the Apindo City Conference (Muskot) held at the Syarikat Islam Building, Kuta Alam District, Banda Aceh, on Saturday, May 10, 2025.
The Muskot was attended by the Chairman of Apindo’s Aceh Provincial Executive Board (DPP), H. Ramli, SE, who also currently chairs the Aceh Land Transportation Organization (Organda).
Also present were DPP Apindo Aceh Secretary Zulmahdi Hasan, S.Ag, MH—who also serves as the Chairman of the Aceh Regional Executive Board of the Crescent Star Party (PBB)—alongside other board members of DPP Apindo Aceh.
Chairman H. Ramli expressed his appreciation for the successful convening of the Muskot and the formation of the new leadership. He conveyed hope that the upcoming programs and agendas would run smoothly and meet expectations to foster a stronger economic climate in Banda Aceh and the province more broadly.
DPP Secretary Zulmahdi Hasan emphasized that Apindo plays a vital role in fostering harmonious, dynamic, and fair industrial relations, while also enhancing the competitiveness and resilience of Indonesian entrepreneurs.
He further stated that Apindo aims to protect, empower, and advocate for all business actors, including MSMEs, and to play an active role in policy consultation and government advocacy that supports the business environment.
“Apindo strives to create a conducive, competitive, and sustainable business ecosystem, which in turn can stimulate job creation,” he remarked.
In his first remarks as Chairman of Apindo Banda Aceh, Thomas Nurwanto called for support from all board members, stakeholders, and the Banda Aceh City Government.
Joining him in the new leadership are Ustaz Irvan Ardian, MPd, as Secretary, and Maida Yuli as Treasurer.
“We sincerely ask for everyone’s support so that a conducive business climate can flourish in our beloved city,” Thomas concluded.
