NABIRE – The Chairman of the Indonesian Employers Association (APINDO) of Central Papua Province, Fransiskus Pekei, held an open discussion with youth and students from Kedegapo, Nabire Study City, on Saturday (September 27, 2025). The event, which took place at Naikere Beach in Nabire, Central Papua, aimed to strengthen unity and encourage students to develop their interests and talents.
Chairman of the Kedegapo Nabire Youth and Student Association (IPPMA), Naftali Pekei, expressed pride and gratitude to Fransiskus Pekei. According to him, this was a historic moment for Kedegapo students in Nabire.
“Since this association was founded, no senior has ever invited us for an open discussion. We are very grateful to Brother Fransiskus Pekei for opening this dialogue space with students,” Naftali said.
He also conveyed the students’ aspirations regarding the need for sports and music facilities.
“We hope other seniors will also show concern for Kedegapo students, both those in Nabire and in other study cities. Students are agents of change for the progress of our region,” he added.
During the discussion, Fransiskus Pekei emphasized the importance of unity among Kedegapo youth.
“Kedegapo youth must unite and strengthen their bonds of togetherness. Let us raise our hobbies and talents in sports and music as a means to build ourselves and our community,” he said.
He also reminded the youth not to be divided based on village or territorial differences.
“Do not differentiate between Ukagoo and Pou-Pou. We are one Kedegapo community. Focus on self-development, so that when there are provincial-level events, we are ready to participate and represent Kedegapo with pride,” he stressed.
As a sign of commitment, the APINDO Central Papua Chairman took note of several student needs that he pledged to support.
“Next year, I will work to provide a complete set of musical instruments and strengthen Kedegapo’s volleyball team. In addition, I will coordinate with senior figures and DPRD members to push for the construction of a Kedegapo dormitory as a supporting facility for students,” concluded Fransiskus Pekei.
