Wijaya Chandra Elected Chair of APINDO Central Sulawesi Provincial Board: Strengthening Regional Business Leadership for Global Competitiveness

Palu, May 6, 2025 — The Regional Board of the Indonesian Employers’ Association (DPP APINDO) of Central Sulawesi officially convened its 4th Provincial Conference (Musprov IV) in Palu, under the theme “Unlocking Central Sulawesi’s Economic Potential – Boldly Advancing Towards Sustainable Global Competitiveness.”

The conference marked a pivotal moment for the regional business community, with Wijaya Chandra elected unanimously to run DPP APINDO Central Sulawesi for the 2025–2030 period. In his inaugural address, Chandra emphasized the importance of organizational consolidation and the proactive role of the private sector in shaping a resilient and inclusive regional economy.

“This Musprov is more than a routine organizational agenda—it is a call to action for Central Sulawesi’s business leaders to collaborate, innovate, and drive meaningful contributions to sustainable regional development,” said Chandra.

Head of Organizational Development at National Board of APINDO Anthony Hilman, delivered a strong message on the need for robust institutional capacity, digital transformation, and cross-sectoral collaboration to navigate global economic challenges. “APINDO put its stand as a strategic bridge between the business community, government, and civil society—championing pro-investment, pro-job creation policies,” Hilman stated.

DPN APINDO also extended high appreciation to the outgoing DPP leadership and acknowledged the establishment of six definitive regional branches (DPK) across the province. However, it encouraged the acceleration of organizational presence in the remaining seven regencies and municipalities to ensure more inclusive regional representation.

The conference was officially launched by Senior Advisor to the Governor for Economic and Development Affairs Dr. Farid R. Yotolembah, S.Sos, M.Si. He mentioned APINDO’s roles in cultivating a healthy and inclusive business climate, which aligns with Central Sulawesi’s impressive economic trajectory, recording 9.89% growth in 2024, with forecasts pointing to double-digit growth in 2025.

“Anchored in the spirit of ‘Nambaso’—a local term symbolizing resilience and renewal—this conference is poised to be a turning point for regional entrepreneurs striving for sustainable global competitiveness,” Dr. Farid remarked.

The conference concluded with a strategic Sarasehan hosted at Yolks Café, led by APINDO Chairman Shinta W. Kamdani. The session served as a platform for in-depth discussions on the region’s investment climate and the strategic role of APINDO in facilitating public-private partnerships.

Key stakeholders attended on that occasion: Dr. Farid R. Yotolembah, Donggala Vice Regent Taufik M. Burhan, and Chairman of the Central Sulawesi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), HM Nur Rahmatu. Discussions focused on strengthening policy synergy and unlocking investment opportunities to further solidify Central Sulawesi’s position as a dynamic economic hub. (st)
